Rogue River Cleanup
Please take a few moments to sign up for the Rogue River Cleanup and look at your stewardship options for the day. We are so happy for you to join us in keeping your river clean!

The event will be held from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 1st, 2024

Join us for a river cleanup for Saturday, June 1st to tackle litter in and around the Rogue River. For additional volunteer forms, maps, and brochures, please visit www.currywatersheds.org/rogue2024 or by contacting Kelly Timchak at kelly@currywatersheds.org  (541-373-0057).
Local school kids will ride in boats on the river to clean up gravel bars, while other community volunteers will be helping with river and beach cleanups or invasive weed removal.
 
WE WILL PROVIDE:
  • Small first aid kits, latex gloves, trash bags, and safety vests, sharps containers
  • Limited number of trash pickers (to be returned)
  • Dumpsters for any garbage you pick up
  • Celebration lunch FREE to you to say thank you!
  • Volunteer awards!
YOU SHOULD BRING:
  • Life jacket (IF riding on a boat *requires reservation*)
  • Bring your own garden gloves if you want sturdy gloves. We will have limited pairs
  • Synthetic, quick dry clothes if you plan to boat
  • Sun clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
  • Comfortable shoes for gravel bars, or river sandals for the river (no flip-flops)
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Extra snacks during your patrol
*Parking and Accessible Bathrooms are available at the Port of Gold Beach, near the boat ramp. Educational Activities are available for limited mobility participants at Quosatana Campground.

June 1st Schedule (all the juicy details)

The morning staging area will be at the Port of Gold Beach, between 5-Star Charters and the Calvary Chapel, in the town of Gold Beach, Oregon. (The nearest address is 29935 Harbor Way, Gold Beach). Will be signposted!

9:30am – 9:55am Check InBoat participants (*boat requires reservation*) and anyone doing beach cleanups, river cleanups, or invasive weed removal Check in.

10am – 12pm Litter Clean ups & Invasive Weed Pulling:  Clean up by boat (pre-arranged reservations needed) OR self-guided river bar or beach clean ups on foot or by your own vehicle. Remove invasive weeds with CWP crew.

12pm – 1:30pm Celebration Lunch: with community partners! Join us at the USFS Quosatana Campground Day Use Area for Smoky Bear, Salmon Tent, Watershed Education, and more! (From Gold Beach, Oregon, travel 14 miles east via Jerry’s Flat Rd./Forest Road 33.)

2pm: Kids and families will ride back in the boats they arrived in and will return to Port of Gold Beach to be picked up.
