All workshops take place at The Forge Garden, 1051 Sherman St. Santa Clara, CA
Please arrive on time, with clothing appropriate for being outdoors. Bring a reusable water bottle and hat.
All workshops are free and open to the public.
If less than five participants are registered, we reserve the right to cancel the workshop. Workshops are also dependent on weather. If your workshop is canceled, we will notify you.

Crop Planning and Seed Starting Workshop
Saturday, January 27th, 11:00am-12:30pm
In this workshop we will be going over how to crop plan a garden for each season while considering soil health and garden type. We will also talk about seed starting! Which seeds to start indoors and which to direct seed and a demonstration on seeding seed trays in the Forge greenhouse. This is a great workshop for those who have a backyard veggie garden or would like to start one!

Water Wise Gardening
Saturday, February 10th,  11:00am-12:30pm

We will be talking about all the ways you can conserve water in your garden spaces!  We will talk about ways to increase water retention in your soil and a demonstration of how to install a simple drip irrigation system. Then Elizabeth from Smart Yards Co-op (who is a certified greywater designer and installer) will give an introduction to rainwater collection and greywater systems. If you want to further your education on greywater systems and installation, Smart Yards Education will be offering a series of workshops that take a deep dive into these projects. Learn more here!

Fermented Foods Workshop
Saturday, March 9th, 11:00am-12:30pm
Join us for a hands-on workshop where you will learn about the many benefits of fermented foods and get to prepare something in our outdoor kitchen! We are still working on solidifying a collaborator for this workshop, but we will update this as soon as we do!
