With art as its vehicle, HeARTworks, Art with a Heart’s Workforce Development Program, provides a collaborative space for youth (Ages 16-21) to experience a structured work environment while building job readiness and life skills. Participants produce marketable art to sell at Art with a Heart’s social enterprise/retail store, HeARTwares, and are paid a stipend contingent upon attendance and timeliness. Due to COVID-19, the program will take place virtually/remotely until it is considered safe to meet in person. The spring program will take place Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, April 5th - June 23rd.
HeARTworks participants are community ambassadors for the Art with a Heart organization that uphold its mission and values. It is expected that in this capacity they will conduct themselves appropriately and professionally. For this program tasks can include:
- If participants are comfortable with contactless pick-up, they can work on hands-on projects with supplies provided and packed safely by our staff. Projects can include: mosaics, jewelry, ceramic projects, painting, and more.
- Potential for designing and 3D modeling products for our online store that can be 3D-printed. This includes but is not limited to: jewelry, games, office items, toys, keychains, ornaments, and more. Some training will be available if needed in the programs necessary to create these items.
