Private Lesson Application Fall 2024
Please review the information below, prior to completing the private lesson application form for the fall semester.

Please complete this application for each instrument in which you are seeking private instruction (150 - undergraduate; 500 - graduate; or secondary lessons for SMTD students). (If you want to take private voice or piano lessons, there is an individual application for each one). Studio assignments will be determined during the first two weeks of the semester, so thank you in advance for your patience. This form will stop collecting applications on August 21, 2024, at 8 a.m.

If you are accepted into a studio, you will receive a class override email notifying you of what class and section to enroll in during the first two weeks of class. This does NOT automatically place you in the class; you must register through Wolverine Access. After registering, students should contact their instructor to confirm and arrange a lesson time. If you are assigned to a studio and can no longer take lessons, please let us know as soon as possible so we may offer your seat to another student.

There is a $250 course fee for Music Performance 150 and 500 courses. No exceptions will be made.

Please note that not all applicants can be placed. Available teacher-hours are limited, and priority is given to School of Music performance majors. Questions? Please contact Becky Olsen at beckyo@umich.edu.
