Girls Rock Bloomington is excited to have our AMPS program for girls, trans and non-binary ages 15-17 back at summer camp* this year! AMPS (Adolescent Music Program Support) participants will be responsible for assisting teachers in instrument class (some experience in instrument of choice is strongly preferred) and will be assigned as a mentor to one of the camper bands. They'll have the opportunity to form their own self-directed band/duo/solo act to perform at the Final Showcase Concert (all gear provided during self-led practice time.) They'll receive mentorship from camp volunteers and camp director and will have the opportunity to create a self-led project documenting camp (zine, mini documentary, radio piece, etc.) Tuition cost is $200 (BIPOC community fund and sliding scale options available- email girlsrockbloomington@gmail.com for more info.) Snacks will be provided, participant must bring their own lunch and water. Participant must commit to reading the instrument instructor handbook (for instrument of choice) and band coach handbook, as well as coordinating via phone/email with their assigned instrument teachers and band coaches before camp begins. Participants must commit to modeling respectful and kind behavior as role models for the campers, as well as follow and help reinforce camp rules and guidelines. Participants must maintain appropriate and courteous behavior and relationships with campers and volunteers at all times. AMPS is a great chance for teens to gain experience in music/arts education, be an important part of a creative, supportive community and work on/perform their own original music with gear and practice time provided!
An email with information on how to pay will be sent out at some point after you've registered (don't expect to hear from us immediately as we'll wait to send the email until camp is full.) If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to get in touch at
girlsrockbloomington@gmail.com.
