Committee Descriptions:
1) Campus Safety Team: To ensure the safety on campus in all aspects, including medical, fire, natural disasters, etc. and that the campus is safe for all persons with all abilities.
2) Building & Grounds Committee: work with the Ministerial Staff on decisions for the buildings and grounds of the Church.
3) College Scholarship Committee: To raise awareness of the scholarship program and administer funds donated by private donors to worthy recipients based on certain criteria set by the committee.
4) Deacon Selection: To solicit from the men of Flint Baptist, candidates who meet the qualifications to become Deacons as set forth in 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and Acts 6:1-6, and make recommendations to the Deacon Body the candidates who qualify for ordinations and willing to serve to serve.
5) Disaster Relief Team: The purpose of the DR Committee is to oversee the DR ministry and the equipment maintenance and usage. (the purpose of the Disaster Relief Ministry is to share the hope of our Lord Jesus with those whose lives have been or will be affected by disasters. This is done by providing Southern Baptists of Texas opportunities to prepare for disasters and respond to the needs created by the disasters.)
6) Finance Committee: To oversee and provide guidance for the accomplishments of the overall fiscal responsibility of Flint Baptist Church.
7) Missions Committee: The Missions Ministry of Flint Baptist Church is based on our Lord's instructions in Acts 1:8 "you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." This committee exists to facilitate an orderly and accountable administration of the Missions Ministry.
8) Nominating Committee: To nominate and prayerfully enlist persons to serve faithfully and regularly on the committees and Ministries of Flint Baptist Church.
9) Nursery Committee: Provide an environment of safety, love, and respect where the child learns about the love of God and the importance of Scripture. The parent feels respected, loved, and feels that their child is loved and well cared for, and the volunteers and staff feel valued and well supported as part of a ministry team that is serving the young families of Flint Baptist Church.
10) Personnel Committee: Oversee and recommend the employment, dismissal, compensation, and policies of paid church staff. Responsibilities of the committee include recommendations concerning policy, job descriptions, compensation, vacations, and benefits of paid personnel.
11) Transportation Committee: To assist the church staff in matters that are associated with any church owned vehicles. This may include any required or related facilities necessary for their proper use, maintenance and /or storage.
