[GENERAL INFORMATION]
The 90/10 Two-Way Immersion instructional model at The Dual Language Academy of the Monterey Peninsula has an enrollment policy to ensure linguistically balanced classes of approximately 50% dominant English speakers and 50% dominant Spanish speakers. This allows students to model the languages for one another.
The Dual Language Academy will admit new students based on a public lottery. A limited number of spaces are available. The names of all students who apply during the published application period will be included in the lottery drawing. There will be an equal number of openings for English dominant and Spanish dominant students. One lottery will be held for each dominant language group.
If there are more students requesting enrollment than there is space available, those remaining names will remain in order on a wait list. The wait list expires at the end of each school year.
[IMPORTANT DATES]
-Age Requirement: In order to qualify for TK students need to turn 5 between September 2nd and March 1st of the academic school year.
-Application Deadline: The deadline to submit TK lottery applications is Friday, March 18 2022.
-Lottery: The TK lottery will take place on Tuesday, April 12th 2022. Following the lottery, school staff will work on contacting families who have been selected to offer placement in our program and complete registration paperwork via contact information you provide on this application.
*Mandatory Parent Information Meeting Date: TBD - Families who are selected through lottery will be notified and invited to attend.
