Setagaya Gakuen Hosting Expression of Interest 

Almost every summer for the last thirty-five years, GNS has welcomed teenage male students from Setagaya Gakuen High School, our brother school in Tokyo, Japan.

At GNS, the students take part in English Language classes each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. The students will be staying with Host Families for six nights.

The Homestay Experience has always been the highlight of the program for the students from Tokyo. Thanks to the many GNS and other families from both campuses who host the students, they have an invaluable, unforgettable experience in Canada. We also hear that the host families benefit greatly from the cross-cultural experience of hosting the Japanese students.

Expectations of host families:

  • Provide a bed for each student (shared rooms are fine)
  • Breakfast and dinner (all lunches will be provided by GNS)
  • Transport students to and from GNS each day (this can be via foot, car, etc)
  • Provide opportunities for the students to experience life in Canada (a list of possible activities will be provided)
