2020-2021 FAST StorySlam Registration
This year the FAST StorySLAM is a live storytelling showcase with a chance to compete at the Citywide slam on 2/25. Storytellers (slammers) have 5 minutes each to tell a real/true story based on our theme:Borders. StorySLAM puts dual emphasis on content and performance, encouraging tellers to focus on what they’re saying and how they’re saying it. It is an exercise in crafting stories within a set time limit. And it is great entertainment! Tellers will  perform their work LIVE in front of a muted ZOOM audience. If you are in  Registered storytellers will be sent a link for workshops, practice and tryouts.

The true story you tell will need to echo the theme this year: Borders.  You can tell a story about a time you crossed a border or boundary or didn't cross. You can tell a story about edges or margins. This border can be geographic, metaphorical, physical, or social. In four or five sentences summarize the story you might tell. (If you do not have an idea now, that's ok. And you can change your mind later and tell a different story. This is just to get  you started. You can also list a few different ideas you have. )
