Ungrading: Alternative approaches to assessing students and assigning grades 
Amidst the growing recognition that traditional approaches to assessing learning and assigning grades are imperfect methods for measuring and communicating student learning, more and more faculty are using alternative approaches to this critical aspect of teaching. We will survey alternative approaches including specifications grading and collaborative or reflective grading and examine the benefits and challenges of these methods.
