2023 Covington Farmers Market Application- December 14th
The Covington Farmers Market is a year-round market, meeting Saturdays, 9 AM - 1 PM, rain or shine. As a Kentucky Proud Market, we are bound by this program's tenets to promote Kentucky products and growers, therefore, we are open to those who grow and produce in Kentucky, those who grow and produce within 50 miles of Kentucky, and those who produce using Kentucky products. We are NOT a "wholesale" or "resale" market: all producers grow or make their own products.

Vendors who engage in our Outdoor market are expected to have a tent with heavy weights, no larger than 10' x 10'. Vendors who participate, regardless of season, will need to provide their own tables and chair, unless predetermined, clearly-marked branding, and signage which states products' prices.

The market's mission is to provide an economically viable direct-marketing opportunity for KY farmers and producers offering nutritious, locally-grown food, and other KY products to the residents of Covington and the Ohio River Valley.

Additionally, we work to increase accessibility through participation in nutrition assistance programs such as SNAP, WIC FMNP, Senior FMNP, and KY Double Dollars.

Each week of the Peak Season (May - October) aims to offer programming to engage the community by inviting guest vendors, community partners, and educators to the market.

All vendors of food products must have liability insurance, abide by all food safety regulations in the state of Kentucky, and be certified to produce, or produce in a commercial kitchen to vend their product (if certification/commercial kitchen production is required by the state). Proof of certification and insurance is required before vending. Each vendor is responsible for any licenses and/or taxes applicable to their business and products. Additionally, scheduled work place/farm visits will take place before new vendors will be offered a contract to ensure the integrity of the products offered at the market. Payment must be received before or on the first day of vending, unless discussed with market manager beforehand.

Covington Farmers Market is a program of Center for Great Neighborhoods, a non-profit dedicated to urban vibrancy. The market is managed by Rachel Seligman cfm@greatneighborhoods.org 859-652-3435.
