Juniper Lane Board Position Interest Survey
It's always a terrific summer at the pool! As a bonded member, we all have a vested interest in keeping the pool a family friendly, safe, financially sound, and well-maintained property to ensure the pool is in great shape for generations to come.

There will be some Board position openings for the next pool year. As we recognize all the hard, volunteer work that it takes for each of these positions, if we have enough interest, we would like to make each Board Position a Co-Position for the upcoming season. (2 people assigned to each). Our by-laws can be reviewed here: https://www.jlsc.org/club-bylaws 

In order to gauge interest, please kindly complete this survey to help us determine who is interested in helping with the following positions (board positions are 2 or 3 year terms):

Would you be interested in taking over as the Board President? The major responsibilities include:
1) Lead and oversee monthly board meetings with prepared agenda
2) Lead and oversee general meeting in January with prepared agenda
3) Oversight of all other board positions and committees
4) Approve all pool related communications before they are disseminated
5) Ensure all pool related communications are sent out to members in a timely manner

Would you be interested in taking over as the Board Vice-President? The major responsibilities include:
1) Fills in when President is not available
2) Attend Board/General Meetings and coordinate with President on the agenda.  

The Vice President is also responsible for the Swim Team which includes:
1) Acts as Liaison between Board and Pool Manager who oversees Swim Team
2) Ensures Swim Team volunteers are in place for all meets
3) Responsible for hiring life guards

Would you be interested in taking over as the Board Secretary? The major responsibilities include:
1) Schedule the time and place for monthly board meetings and the general meeting (January),
2) Take meeting minutes for any and all board and general meetings
3) Send out all pool related communications (via mailchimp & must be approved by president first)
4) Coordinate and organize board/committee elections

Would you be interested as taking over as the Board Treasurer? The major responsibilities include:
1) Maintaining the books and records (financial statements) for the pool,
2) Ensuring that the financial statements are audited by a CPA timely and in accordance with the Bi-Laws
3) Making payments for pool insurance, property taxes and any other pool related expenditures on a timely basis
4) Sending out invoices for new and existing members
5) Collecting mail on a frequent basis - at least weekly
6) Collecting membership dues and maintaining a list of members paid vs. unpaid (now via Member Splash)
7) Following up with members that have not paid timely
8) Deposit membership dues and any other checks in the pool bank account timely
9) Collect W-2 statements from Lifeguards and any other pool related employees
10) Issue paychecks for lifeguards and any other pool related employees timely
11) Draft overall pool budget to be approved by the Pool Board.
12) Attend Board /General Meetings and come prepared with announcements/agenda.
13)Coordinates with membership committee to update Member Splash as needed.

In addition, at each monthly Board meeting the Treasurer will submit, for approval, a financial statement reporting the income and expenditure since the last meeting.

Would you be interested in taking over as the Chairperson of Membership Committee. Major responsibilities include:
1) Overall Advertisement
2) Respond timely to website or other inquiries from potential new members & existing members
3) Give tours of the pool to new members
4) Prepare and provide a "New Member Welcome Packet" to new members, which would include copy of the By Laws and social events for the season
5) Advertise for August only membership
6) Ensure that when new bonded members join the pool, the bonds are returned to those who have left the pool, in the they are on the waitlist.
7) Liaisons with Treasurer to maintain updated listing of pool members bonded vs. non bonded
8) Maintain an accessible (google doc) waitlist of members who have left the pool and need their bonds reimbursed
9) Attend Board /General Meetings as invited, and come prepared with announcements/agenda.
10)Committee will help run the FB and IG pages and liaison with secretary for any information which needs to communicated.

Would you be interested in taking over as the Technology Chairperson? Major responsibilities include:
1) Maintenance and updates to pool website & Member Splash on a timely basis
2) Any other technology related tasks as delegated by the Board
3)Liasons with Secretary and Membership committee to disseminate communications to the members via mailchimp

Would you be interested in taking over as Grounds Committee Chairperson? The major responsibilities include:
1) Overall maintenance of the pool and grounds
2) Ensures pool is open and closed timely
3) Hires/maintains a landscaper or performs the tasks themselves/delegates as needed
4) Prepare preliminary budget to be approved by the Board
5) Ensures cleanliness & working conditions of bathrooms
6) Hire/maintain garbage company and schedule pick ups for the season/year
7) Coordinates and is the lead contact for all pool workday parties to open/close pool
8) Must inspect all chairs and umbrellas to ensure they are clean and in working condition
9) Lead Person/Committee members Powerwash/Paint picnic tables and pavilion as needed  
10) Select/Notify a pool company in April and schedule the company to open the pool
11) Is the point person in the event that anything breaks on the grounds
12) Ensure pool and grounds maintenance issues are corrected safely & timely.  
13) Liasions with secretary and social committee to have work party communications/evite events created and disseminated to members.
14) Attend Board /General Meetings as invited, and come prepared with announcements/agenda.

Would you be interested in taking over as Social Committee Chairperson? The major responsibilities include:
1) Plan the social calendar for the year,
2) Assign an event lead for each event
3) Create E-vites and disseminate to all members (must add new members to e-vite contact list). E-votes help to keep track of attendance and supplies/donations needed
4) Ensure all events are executed properly
5) Prepare a social committee budget for board approval
6) Purchase items needed for events
7) Ensure there is proper set-up/take down for each event.
8) Attend Board /General Meetings as invited, and come prepared with announcements/agenda.

We are looking to update the by-laws. Are any of our members lawyers and willing to assist changing the by- laws, ie changing language, etc to meet modern standards and needs. *
