Merit-Based Summer Institute Scholarship Application
Any MTSA student member at any level is eligible for the MTSA merit-based scholarship for summer Institute study. Scholarships may be for partial tuition. Students should be leaders in their private studios with regard to consistent private and group class attendance, work ethic, posture and sound. They should also regularly participate in MTSA events. They will be evaluated on the basis of MTSA involvement, a teacher recommendation, and playing ability as demonstrated by a submitted video.

Scholarships cannot be combined with scholarships provided by other institutes.

Directions: Please fill out this application. All information will remain confidential. After completing this application, please provide your teacher with a link to fill out the teacher recommendation form, located at www.middletnsuzui.org/scholarships. It is your responsibility to follow up with your teacher to ensure they submit the recommendation by the March 1st deadline.

Application Checklist:
- Completed/submitted online application
- Playing ability video (provide link)
- Teacher Recommendation Form found on MTSA website (Your teacher must be an MTSA member)

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. We must be able to access your playing video digital file or video link (e.g., private/unlisted YouTube video). You may use your phone to record your video. Please provide a clear video recording. Make sure the adjudicator can see your hands, violin and face. If possible, full body stance is best. No extraneous background noises.
