Dear Parents/Caregivers
Your child has expressed interest in representing the school in the Netball North Harbour Intermediate Year 8 Competition for 2024.
Details are as follows:
COMPETITION DATES:
Games commence Thursday 9th May 2024 with games being played every Thursday during term time with final games being played on Thursday the 15th of August 2024. (5 grading rounds and 7 competition rounds)
Game playing dates:
Thursday 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th May 2024
Thursday 6th, 20th and 27th June 2024
Thursday 4th and 25th July 2024
Thursday 1st, 8th and 15th August 2024
Saver Dates: Thursday 13th June and Thursday 22nd August 2024
VENUE
Barfoot and Thompson Netball Centre, 44 Northcote Road, Takapuna
COMPETITION PLAYING DAY AND TIME
Thursday with games played anywhere between 4pm and 7.30pm
REQUIRED UNIFORM
(Girls) - AJHS Netball Dress (purchased from AJHS uniform shop $95.00) Black or navy sports brief. (No shorts to be worn under netball dress).
(Boys) - AJHS PE shirt and shorts
All students must wear sports shoes.
TRAINING
Teams will have a minimum of one training per week, which will be held on the school netball courts either before or after school. Training days and times will be advised once teams and coaches confirmed. Trainings will start in term 1 at the completion of trials and the squad trainings.
TRIALS
Year 8 Trials - Monday 4th of March 2024
The trials are held on the school netball courts during the school day from 8.45am until approximately 1.30pm.
All students trialing must wear PE gear and netball/sports footwear.
At the completion of trials students will be placed in squads which they will train in for at least 2 sessions before teams are named.
TRANSPORT
It is the responsibility of parent/caregivers to either transport their child to the games and trainings each week or to arrange for another parent/caregiver to transport them. The school does not provide transport for this competition.
REGISTRATION FEE
$160.00 per player for the season.
COMPULSORY ADMINISTRATION FEE
$25.00 (One payment of $25 will be charged regardless of the number of sports played)
UMPIRE FEE
The umpire fee is included in the registration fee.
REGISTRATION CLOSING DATE
9am Thursday 29th February 2024
REGISTRATION FEE DUE DATES:
$50.00 Deposit and $25.00 Sports Administration Fee due - Thursday 29th February 2024 (with registration)
$110.00 Final Payment due Friday 5th April 2024
REFUND POLICY
Once teams are named there will be no refunds of Registration Fees or the Sports Administration Fee unless an approved medical certificate is provided.

For this length of time and at this level of competition each school team requires a coach and a manager.
As a coach you will be required to take a minimum of one training per week and also be available at the games. For team training's the school's outdoor netball courts would be available for use before or after school. Our preferred training times are 7.30am to 8.30am in morning but alternatively teams can train after school from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
The Manager is the point of contact between the Sports Coordinator and the team. Managers are responsible for organising the team, ensuring all players and parents/caregivers are aware of game times and trainings and ensuring the team has a person doing the scoring duty each week.
Ideally the Manager will also attend games to support the team and the coach.
All team communication will be through the TeamReach app. Details will be provided once teams are confirmed.
Without parent volunteers it is impossible for teams to participate in the competition so if you are available to assist with either role please tick the appropriate box on the form.
To ensure your child is registered for the year 8 netball competition, please complete the following form and submit by 9am Thursday 29th February 2024.
Please also ensure that the deposit of $50.00 and $25.00 Sports Administration Fee are paid by Thursday 29th of February 2024. The remaining $110.00 is due by Friday 5th April 2024.
We do offer payment plans, so if you would like to put this in place please contact me to arrange.
Our preferred methods of payment are through the online portal or internet banking.

Please use N8 and your child's name as reference for payment.
