Baptism Registration
-Children who are seven (7) years of age or older must receive instruction in the church before being baptized.
-One of the parents or legal guardians must request baptism.
-There must be a founded hope that the child baptized will be brought up in the Catholic Religion.
-Godparents must have received Baptism, Confirmation and the Holy Eucharist, should be at least 16 years of age, and should be practicing Catholics who are able to give the example of a good Catholic life. There must be only one godparent, if they are two godparents, it must be one man and one woman, preferably a catholic matrimony.
-Baptism is not to be conferred until parents and godparents have attended pre-baptismal instruction. The responsibilities of parents and godparents are to be reviewed, as well as preparation for the celebration of the rite of baptism. You can select to take the course in person or online at https://lacatholics.org/baptism/ and email your certificate upon completion to olvchurch@gmail.com. (The course is completely free)
-Send Birth Certificate of the child to olvchurch@gmail.com
-Baptism Set & Holy Water Bottles are included in the Baptism Donation. It will be given on the day of the Baptism please select which one you would like.

One Sponsor (godparent) is required for the celebration of Baptism. Two (one man and one woman) maybe allowed. Must be at least 16 years of age and in good standing with the church. If single, they must have completed their Confirmation. If a couple, they must be married through the Catholic Church. NO EXCEPTIONS.
I affirm that single godparents must provide a copy of their Confirmation certificate. If the godparents are a couple, they must provide a copy of the Catholic Church Marriage certificate. Please send proof to documents to olvchurch@gmail.com. *
