On Sunday, October 2, Resto will be hosting an info session about foster care & adoption in partnership with Project Belong from 12:30-2:00 pm in the fellowship hall.
Project Belong Virginia is a ministry focused on inspiring, recruiting, and resourcing the local church in Northern VA to care for vulnerable children with the love of Christ (
https://www.projectbelongva.org/). Project Belong works with partner churches to do this in multiple ways: providing information & resources, forming Care Community Teams, and facilitating mentoring relationships with foster kids. Restoration currently has one active Care Community Team that provides wrap-around care for a Resto foster family - this includes consistent prayer support for the foster family, and might also include regular meals, childcare, tutoring, providing rides, running errands, and more.
Chris Seaton (Executive Director for Project Belong) and Julianna Hutchins (Team Leader for the Resto Care Community Team) will share about:
- foster care in Arlington County/Virginia and the needs & challenges unique to foster children and families
- introductory info on different paths to adoption & resources available
- ways you can support foster & adoptive families: Care Community Teams; mentoring a foster childĀ
**Attending the session does not commit you to anything!** So whether you have a strong interest or are just curious, we'd love to see you there! A simple lunch will be provided.
