A pitching competition will be held in the Oulu Slush Community Side Event on 1.12.
Come show Oulu the new startup or project that you've been building! Every single startup will receive the support and admiration of Oulu's startup community, and the top three will get cash-prizes. Pitching is a valuable skill in sales and startups, and the more you pitch, the better you'll be, so we hope this is just the first in a lifetime of pitching. Showing others your startup also helps you find partners, customers, and take your startup to the next level!
Everyone joining the pitching competition will be offered workshops for learning how to pitch, and practise and feedback sessions for rapidly improving your startup pitch. You can participate in the competition also without joining the workshops. We will select 10 teams to pitch to great jury of industry professionals and audience. This is your chance to make your startup shine!
Prizes for top three pitchers are 1000€, 500€, and 300€. Teams with Oamk or UniOulu students can also apply for up to 5000€ Proof of Concept -funding for developing and validating your startup further, if you meet the PoC-funding criteria.
Pitches will be 3 minutes with 2 minutes for Q&A. Slides are allowed and encouraged.
Participation eligibility criteria:
- Startup concept
- Preferably a team, but can apply alone too
- Company does not need to be registered, but registered new companies are welcome too
- No industry focus, ideas from all backgrounds are welcome
Deadline for startup applications to pitch is 15.11.2023. If we get a myriad of applications, we will select top 10 come pitch in the Slush side event.
