This is an initial "straw poll" survey to guide the thinking of the Peace , Security and Defence (PSD) working group. A more complete survey will be distributed to the membership in due course.

1. Nuclear Weapons.

2. Military Deployment

Under what circumstances should the UK military be deployed overseas?

The UK military should be deployed....

5. The Arms Industry

Britain’s arms industry amounts to almost £10 billion a year, 16% of the global arms trade.

6. NATO

Current Green Party Policy states that we should leave the NATO alliance.

In light of the recent war in Ukraine, should we still have this aspiration?

This is a complex and divisive issue, and needs to be carefully debated.

Be part of NATO, because the risks for escalating conflict for Britain are lessened

7. Civilian Protection

The UK has contingency plans to protect the leadership in case of national emergencies such as a major climate event or nuclear attack. This tends not to be extended to protection of the general population.
