Thank you for considering making a GOVIS Conference Presentation. We would love to receive a response from you. This form is designed to help you prepare a compelling proposal.
GOVIS Conference delegates expect a high-quality event with excellent speakers. They are looking for different and original experiences and perspectives. We always receive more proposals than there are available presentation slots at the conference.
If we decide to accept your presentation proposal, we will remain in contact during the lead-up to the conference to support you as a presenter and make sure you have opportunities to:
- Practice a short 3-5 minute version of your presentation in front of a GOVIS audience (Conference Taster lunchtime event)
- Attend free presenter training
Here are some pointers to bear in mind while preparing your presentation proposal:
- This proposal form is for streamed presentations. We are yet to confirm the final programme format, but expect to be taking 6-12 of these streamed presentations. These will likely allow 20-30 minutes for speaking, and 5-10 minutes for questions.
- We may consider exceptional presentation proposals as keynote or plenary presentations.
- We are open to proposals for group presentations, or panels – just let us know about this in the form and indicate who your other presenter(s) would be.
- Vendors are welcome to present, however they must partner with a government agency and make a joint submission with the agency leading the presentation. The submission of presentations which are obviously marketing products or services will not be considered unless strong partnership can be demonstrated.
Alternative to providing a written presentation proposal:
GOVIS recognises that some people may be more comfortable presenting their conference proposal verbally, rather than in written form. This year we are giving you an option to pitch your proposal to the conference committee over Zoom or MS Teams. This will be a 15 minute discussion where we will listen to your proposal and ask any questions we might have about your presentation or background. You will also be able to clarify any questions you might have about the conference. The scheduling of these sessions will be subject to the conference committee’s availability and capacity. We are not offering this option where a full written proposal is submitted.
If you would like to try this option, you may put ‘verbal proposal’ in the boxes for presentation description, precis and biography below, but please still specify a title and how your presentation aligns to the conference theme.
Call for presentations will now close on Monday 1 August, 5:00pm.
