In the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading”, TEDx was created to help local communities, organizations, and individuals to spark conversation and connection.

This application includes three sections to submit information regarding your proposed talk. Please read the application instructions thoroughly before submitting.

Promote your "big idea". (VIDEO SUBMISSION) *
Create a short (90s), informal video of you responding to this question. Please no previously recorded videos. Include why your "big idea" should be selected by explaining how it changes attitudes, lives, and, ultimately, the world. Why is it important to you? Why should it be important to the TEDx audience? In what way is it new, innovative, or different? When recorded and uploaded, please provide the URL here. NOTE: If it's posted privately, please provide any information required necessary for our committee members to access and view your video. Videos more than 90s will be disregarded. Please use a tripod or something to steady the video.

I understand that TEDxSanAntonio is a half-day of interactive dialog between speakers attendees, and speakers are required to stay at the venue all day on Saturday, November 9, 2019. *

I understand that if chosen to be a speaker, I must:
1. Attend TEDxSA Orientation on either Saturday, August 24, 2019 (morning) or Wednesday, August 27, 2019 (evening). Attendance is mandatory. *

2. Participate in at least one group rehearsal on Saturday, September 21 (morning), Thursday, October 3 (evening), or Saturday, October 19 (morning) *

3. Attend the technical rehearsal and speaker reception with our TEDxSanAntonio sponsors on Friday, November 8, 2019. *

I agree to work with a TEDxSanAntonio appointed curator (Talk coach) to help refine my presentation. *
Being chosen as a speaker or performer is only the first step in a long journey to the Big Day. As a speaker, you will have plenty of time to prepare your talk with the assistance of an appointed curator, who will be available to give advice and guidance on the process and your talk, deadlines for deliverables, and any additional logistics. Your appearance on the TEDxSanAntonio stage is dependent on cooperation with your curator in addition to attendance at the events listed above.
