By default, all players will have their team selection based on their utility score or overall ranking. We ask that any players trying out for a specialty position indicate whether they would like to have their team selection based on their specialty score and ranking instead. This preference may not be changed after scores have been recorded.

We ask you to make your selection prior to tryouts for the following reasons:
 • Allows players and parents to discuss the player’s desire prior to tryouts and team selection.
 • Allows us to form teams immediately after tryouts without needing to contact players/parents who have gone through the pitcher/catcher tryouts.
 • Promotes competitive teams at ALL levels by knowing in advance which pitchers/catchers desire to play on a higher team vs. work on their specialty position.
 • Establishes the expectation that pitching and catching innings may not be available if the athlete chooses to play on a higher team.
