Living in the Gaps SYMPOSIUM REGISTRATION

Living in the Gapssurvival, advocacy, and change, in Aotearoa’s healthcare system

This free, online symposium is for people with lived experience of health conditions, illnesses, or disabilities (or who do advocacy, work, or research in these areas).

The event is on 9:30am to 5pm, SATURDAY 25th MARCH 2023, via Zoom (and you can check out the draft programme here).

The event is being run by a team based at Otago University, and funded by a Fast Start Marsden Grant (more info here). The goal is to facilitate shared conversations about health & disability funding issues that affect a variety of different communities, in different ways, in contemporary Aotearoa; to document experiences, share knowledge, and to think about directions forward, together.

The symposium is open to anyone, of any age, from Aotearoa New Zealand, who feels their life or work experience relates to this topic.

Please use the form below to register to attend. Registrations close Weds 22nd March.

We plan to have NZSL interpreters, auto captioning (as unfortunately live captioning services were not available), visual aids, and breaks between sessions. We will also make recordings available to participants afterwards.

Are there any other accessibility accommodations that would help you participate fully?
(NB: Please note here if you will need the NZSL interpreters, so we can also ensure they are assigned to any workshops you take part in).
