LGBTQ+ 101: An Introduction to the LGBTQ+ community for Faculty and Staff (Albany Campus)
The You Belong team, which is comprised of SUNY Poly faculty and staff volunteers, is offering this training for fellow faculty and staff who are interested in fostering safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ students and colleagues.  LGBTQ+ 101 is an introductory workshop in which participants can learn about the LGBTQ+ community and ask questions in a nonjudgmental space.

During the training, participants will:
-Develop an understanding of the terminology used to describe sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, and gender expression
-Learn about the history of the LGBTQ+ community and equal rights movement
-Explore some of the struggles that members in the LGBTQ+ community face
-Identify ways to create more inclusive campus offices and classrooms at SUNY Poly

For questions regarding the training, please contact Katie Tynan-Simon (ktynan@sunypoly.edu) or Kaila Aimino (aiminok@sunypoly.edu).
