WEI Participant Application 2023 - 2024
The Workforce Equity Initiative program at Triton College is an Illinois state grant that focuses on growing our area's workforce by providing participants with a credential and a living wage. The purpose of the WEI grant is to accelerate the time for African American students to enter and succeed in post-secondary education/training programs that lead to employment in high skilled, high wage, and in-demand occupations. The primary deliverable of this grant is employment after completion of the credential aligned with regional workforce gaps that provides a full-time job paying at least 30% above the regional living wage or is on a pathway to a family sustaining wage.

Triton will use the grant to cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, and supplies for qualified students. Financial support for transportation and childcare will also be available in some instances.

As a WEI Grant Program participant, students will receive application and enrollment guidance, admission support services, an assigned Completion and Transition Specialist (CTS), resume-writing support and career counseling.
