Workshop #2: Dust to Dust: Deciding the Fate of Our Earthly Remains

Saturday, March 11th | 10 AM - 12 PM | Parish Hall

All God creates is sacred, including our bodies. Therefore, how we choose to lay our earthly remains to rest matters. This workshop will explore the different alternatives for interment including conventional, full body burial in a casket, cremation, and natural or green burial. Two special guest speakers from the funeral home industry will help us compare through these options from theological, practical, financial, and environmental perspectives.

Guest Panelists:

  • Glenn Jennelle, General Manager of Duck Run Natural Cemetery (Penn Laird, VA)
  • Carey Bliley, President and CEO of Bliley’s Funeral Home

This is part of the Holy Living, Holy Dying Series: Dying is a privileged occasion to explore the meaning and value of life and to deepen our relationship with God. As Christians, we are called to consider our mortality faithfully and responsibly, giving our loved ones the gift of making known our choices for end-of-life care and death. Join us during Lent for these important conversations.
