Green Connection Pod EOI
Kia ora,

Have you seen The Green Connection Pod in Tūranga Central Library? Do you think your community, organisation or group could benefit from it?

The Green Connection Pod was created by The Green Lab to enable moments of true human connection (it comes with conversation starters), or simply as a space where people can relax and recharge surrounded by plants. Research shows that access to green spaces improve mental health, happiness, productivity and reduce depression or stress.

The Pod has been well received at Tūranga and we are now exploring how it can continue to serve people and communities when its time at Tūranga is done. We'd love to see the Pod travelling to spaces where it continues to support human connections and wellbeing.

Are you an organisation/community/group/or school that would like to host the Pod? If so, please fill out the EOI below.

We are using this form to gauge interest, need and capacity. Please note: This is an expression of interest form only. Completing this form does not guarantee that The Green Lab will be able to bring the pod to your community.

Thanks for your time, we'll be in touch!

Hosting the Green Connection Pod
This section asks questions about your group and how you'd like to use the Green Connection Pod to assist us in determining which groups would most benefit from using the pod. This is where you can tell us about your community's connection/wellbeing needs, if you have a particular project/event(s) in mind that it would support, or how the pod will be used by your community.
What is your organisation or community's purpose? *
How would hosting the Green Connection Pod benefit your group in line with your purpose?   *
Please tell us about the potential users of the pod - who are they, what are their shared community needs, how many people do you imagine would encounter the Pod (an estimate is fine): *
Is there anything else we should know? (i.e. do you need the Pod for a particular date etc)
Practicalities
The following are a few practical questions to ensure suitability of host organisations and to assist us with planning, developing loan agreements and funding applications.
The Green Connection Pod requires a floor area 4x4m, and is just under 2m tall. The plants need indirect/filtered natural light (i.e. it can't be positioned in a north facing window), and to be away from cold draughts. The space needs to be locked at night or during periods when no one is in the building. Does your organisation/community group have a space that fits these requirements? *
If YES, and you already know where you'd put the pod, please describe it here:
If NO - but you have a plan to access a new space or modify an existing space, tell us about it here:
How long would you be interested in hosting the Pod for (6 weeks is the minimum) *
Security:  You will be responsible for the safe and responsible use of the Pod, and maintaining it in good condition. Please tell us how will the pod be looked after?
Are there people within your community/organisation that can commit to plant care (we'll give you a guide) for the duration of the Pod's time with you? *
Costs
Please help us develop an accessible lending system that works by responding to the following questions about costs.
How much would your community/group be able to contribute toward moving and set up costs if required? *
Would your group/organisation be able to contribute toward a hire fee for the period? Depending on funding - we would look to develop a sliding scale which enabled community groups with more resources to offset those with less resources to create access the Pod *
Damages: Does your group/organisation have insurance that would cover any damages that were sustained to the pod while in your care? *
If NO, would you be able to afford the lesser  cost of A) the repair of damages or B) the excess on The Green Lab's insurance policy in the case of malicious damages (up to a maximum of $1000)?
