ASPIRE is a training programme for young creatives hoping to become professional freelancers. This programme will be delivered by You Press, a social enterprise renowned for supporting creative young people to develop their skills and achieve goals.

Consisting of twelve workshops, ASPIRE is designed to help creative individuals develop their skills in preparation for the working world. Through this programme, we will not only provide participants with the skills they need to take on freelance work; we will also support participants to build their own client-base through our creative agency. Key topics we will be exploring are:

• Emotional Intelligence Skills
• Body Language & Public Speaking Skills
• Preparation for Work Life / Culture
• Tax and book keeping
• Networking Skills
• Systems & Strategy
• How to handle difficult clients
• Procrastination/ self-reflection

This programme starts, with an introductory workshop, on September 16th, 6pm on Zoom. We expect that the entirety of the programme will be delivered on Zoom, however if safe to do so, we will consider delivering some sessions face to face.

Any person hoping to take part in ASPIRE must complete the below form in order to be considered and be invited for an interview. The data from your response will be solely utilised for the purpose of application and if successful, registration for this programme.

To further develop their skills and experience, the participants will be supported to create a social action campaign during the programme using their creative skills and talents to address a social issue they care about.

The young people on the programme will receive one-one support from our team and they will also have access to our extended team of freelancers and workshop facilitators who can offer bespoke advice and guidance.

Upon completing the programme, the participants will be eligible to secure paid work through You Press’ creative agency. Through ASPIRE we will prepare young creatives for the working world, create more job opportunities through our creative agency, and expand the personal and professional networks of all of the participants, enabling them to progress beyond the programme.
