If you have answered yes to all or any of these questions, this opportunity might be for you... Following on from the fantastic interest that UNITAR has received regarding its Women's Leadership for Peace programme, we are currently planning to run a condensed version of the course during Summer 2021. Current thoughts are being directed towards running one iteration for young women - for those who aspire to have a career in peace and security - and a second iteration for middle managers working on peace and security; however this planning might change depending on the interest we receive.

The iteration for young women will be designed for young women who are looking to make the transition from further education into the workplace and are eager to start their career with the self-awareness that is needed to be an effective leader for peace. give participants an insight into what it means to be a young women leader for peace, and the possibilities and challenges into what it takes to achieve a career in this field. Additionally, participants will explore examples of effective leadership for peace and increase their own awareness of their leadership styles.  

The iteration for middle managers and emerging leaders will provide an opportunity for participants to enhance your understanding of sustainable peacebuilding and the leadership styles that have proven to be effective in these contexts. You will also learn how to apply this understanding to your own situation. Furthermore, UNITAR will share the insights they have gained into working in a digital world and tips and tricks that can be leveraged to help you become efficient leaders in an ever-changing world! To accommodate the shorter format, this course will offer participants a condensed version of the broader UNITAR's Women's Leadership for Peace programme in addition to offering additional resources for participants to deepen their learning in their own time (if they are interested).
