ZONE EXEMPT TRANSPORTATION
Please note: **Zone exempt transportation request's will not be processed until we have received actual ridership counts. Counts are usually obtained the third week of school. This is to ensure we have the most accurate counts possible. **
Zone Exception Transportation Request approval guidelines:
1. Requests will not be approved if a student is required to walk along or cross a roadway that has been determined to be hazardous by the District. (All roadways listed as Freeways, Expressways, Major Arterials and Minor Arterials in the MOA Official Streets and Highways Plan)
2. Students must be able to walk safely to an existing school bus stop; new stops will not be established for students on zone exceptions.
3. Requests are approved first come first served on a space available basis.
4. Approval will not be granted if the students must be transported by vehicle to the school bus stop.
5. When space is no longer available on a route for student on zone exceptions, the privilege will be revoked. Privileges will be revoked in the reverse order of approval. The last approved request will be the first to be revoked then the second to the last approved until the bus is at rated capacity.
6. Students attending school on a zone exception who have been approved for transportation are subject to the same bus conduct rules as other riders and are subject loss of bus riding privileges if warranted.
