The theme for the 2024 Spring term is the Middle Ages. Guided by “The Story of the World: History for the Classical Child. Volume 2”, older students (Tuesday-Thursday) will study the historic period of the Middle Ages, from the fall of Rome to the Renaissance. Guided by books from The Magic Treehouse series, younger students (Wednesday- Friday) will follow the same historic course as the older class, zooming in on ancient Rome, the Celts, ancient China, the Vikings, the Middle Ages in Europe and Japan, and the Renaissance. Students of all ages will study (and apply) the basic properties of physics through hands-on projects connected to our theme. We are going to build ships, draw bridges, cannons and so much more! The term will be completed with a mini exposition where students can present their work to friends and family.
