Certified and Classified Staff play an important role in the lives of young adults, families, and society. Each month we would like to recognize one outstanding certified and classified staff member at Andrews Elementary School and highlight/his/her achievements (classified staff members include custodians, teachers, teacher’s aide, cafeteria workers, guidance counselors, office staff, and school nurse).
Those receiving this award will be nominated by school staff and parents. The teacher or staff member of the month will receive a certificate, photograph on website, and a gift of appreciation.

How to Submit
Nomination forms will be sent home at the beginning of each month. You may submit your nomination by the 20th of each month by 4:00 pm in the front office Staff Member of the Month Drop Box or Online. No late submissions will be accepted.

Selection Criteria
Each month a different staff member will be recognized based on the following criteria:
1. Excellence in the classroom or his/her job- consistently advancing students to higher levels of academic achievement.
2. Motivation- having the ability to motivate and encourage students to advance past their expectations both academically and socially.
3. Leadership- serving as a leader not only in the classroom, but also throughout the school.
4. Creativity and Imagination- demonstrating creativity and imagination in their lesson plans and teaching methods that inspire students to learn. For staff, this means demonstrating creativity and imagination in carrying out their job duties in such a way that they motivate and inspire others in the school community to learn.
5. Dedication- showing excellent attendance, punctuality, and a desire to see their students advance, in addition, participating in programs and activities outside the school day.
6. Communication- communicating articulately to their classroom, colleagues, and beyond.
