This survey has been prepared by Michal Gray and Nick Redding after informal discussions with Trevor Fulton from VelocityNet regarding the installation of a fibre broadband network for Myross Bush.  The purpose of this survey is to assess feasibility for the project. The survey is not contractual in any way, therefore if you choose to indicate your support it is not binding.  All costs, and time frames provided by VelocityNet are estimates.

If the project goes ahead each property owner who wishes to access to the fibre broadband network would be required to contribute an equal amount to fund the installation of the cables.  This includes cabling to the house, a modem and other necessary connections.  At this stage that contribution is estimated to be a maximum of $2,000 per property.  This amount would be required at the commencement of the project and would be held in a trust account until the fibre broadband was connected and running.

Once connected monthly internet (and landline) use would then be free for a period of 12 months.  After the 12 month period it would be billed at $79 plus GST per month, under no fixed contract.  The speed of the fibre broadband will be 100/50 (Ultrafast) with unlimited usage and includes landline phone.

The Myross Bush zone for the project at this stage is defined as:  Bainfield/Fairweather Rd from Retreat Rd to Kennington Roslyn Bush Rd to Roslyn Road to Mill Rd Nth to Lorne Dacre Rd to SH 6 (see map, excludes Lornville round about) to McIvor Rd to Retreat Road to Bainfield Rd.   Internal roads include Drysdale Road, Drysdale Road West, Myross Road, Simon Road, Fox Road, McGilvray Road, Neas Road, Redmayne Road and Saville Row.

If your property is on the other side of the road to the red line on the map below please still complete this survey.  AND if your property is well outside of the area proposed by VelocityNet, for example Brown Road, please complete the survey if you wish and we can then indicate to VelocityNet if there is wider interest.

Commencement of the project is likely to be 12 months away, but the earlier we can show the support for the project the sooner it is likely it is to proceed.
Privacy and protection of your personal information
Your personal details and responses to these question will not be forwarded on to VelocityNet.  At this stage VelocityNet only need an indication of the extent of interest in the project, which we hope to pass on to them with a marked up map.  When the project is closer to commencment each property owner will be responsible for entering into a legal arrangement directly with VelocityNet.  We have requested your contact details so that we can clarify addresses if needed, and we may provide updates on progress by email in the future.
