Ancient Cultures: This course will have students choose by majority what two cultures will be studied. The cultures that students will choose from include Vikings, Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, Roman Empire and Medieval Europe. Topics will focus on daily life, religion, food, sport, language, art, social hierarchy and major events. This course will have a lot of hands-on activities as well as some self-directed studies. Supplies will be asked to be brought in depending on the activity.
DIY Crafting: Does crafting excite you? Do you like to create and make things in your spare time? Crafting can help you to relax, is a great stress buster, a good alternate to switch off from technology and a fun way to express yourself. In this option we will use items and supplies from home to make unique projects.

Food Science: In this option, students will develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to use a variety of food preparation techniques to plan and prepare nutritious, tasty and attractive foods. Using critical thinking skills, students will work as a team to complete the day’s recipe in an efficient manner. Through these recipes, students will gain knowledge, skills and attitudes that have immediate and future applications in their personal lives, as well as in local and global environments. There will be a $30 fee per student.
Rube Goldberg: A Rube Goldberg machine takes a simple task and performs it using a series of complicated and unnecessary steps. If this sounds like fun to you, then here is your opportunity to be creative, work with materials brought from home and/or available in the classroom and design, build and test (and quite likely modify) your very own Rube Goldberg machine.
Woods: Students will learn the tools and techniques of the wood shop, with an emphasis on safety, through hands-on learning. Students will use their woodworking skills through the design and construction of a wooden toy. This course will have a $40 fee per student.
