The Singfest Festival Choirs cater for singers aged from 6 - 19.  

Following application, singers are assigned to a group based on age, musical and vocal experience.  

The Singfest Festival Choirs draw singers from all over the Midland counties and beyond.
Now in its 5th year, our choirs are maturing and opportunities for additional performances and collaborations are starting to emerge.

To be a Singfester requires a high level of commitment.  Rehearsals are long and demanding, yet many of our members have been with us over successive years.

Following application singers will be allocated to a group based on age, musical and singing experience with the Young Voices Choir developing members ability and experience of singing in parts and the Senior Choir catering for our more experienced singers looking for a challenge!

The Singfest Explorers is perfect younger singers aged 6 - 8 years looking for a first introduction to the joys of singing together. This group meet for half day rehearsals full of games and singing.

Our established Singfest Choirs will continue to cater for singers aged 8 - 19.

With the exception of the Singfest Explorers, all other Singfesters are allocated to a choir based on age, musical and singing experience.

We're looking for youngsters with an interest in and enjoyment of singing who are able to commit to a series of monthly rehearsals.

There is NO AUDITION - just apply by completing the attached form.

Enthusiastic, hard-working young people of all singing standards and experience are welcome to apply.

THERE ARE LIMITED PLACES AVAILABLE SUBJECT TO DEMAND and ability to commit to attending rehearsals as well as the final performance will be taken into consideration.

Please note that Singfest is an intensive choral programme based on monthly rehearsal attendance - failure to regularly attend rehearsals may impact the singer's enjoyment of the project and subsequently their ability to take part in the closing concert.

Rehearsal commitment: Day long MONTHLY rehearsals from October 2019  - May 2020  
                                             Singfest Explorers meet from 10 - 1pm
                                             All other Singfest Choirs rehearse for the FULL DAY from 10 - 4pm

SINGFEST is a choral programme designed by MGOW in partnership with the Sing Ireland & Irish Youth Choir for children & young people aged 6 - 19.

SINGFEST aims to provide young singers with the unique opportunity to train with leading professionals in a relaxed yet challenging atmosphere.

There are many benefits to joining SINGFEST from making friends with similar interests to performing with great musicians.

Involvement in SINGFEST over successive years will allow children and young people to progress through the choirs, building musical skills year on year as they develop a lifelong love of music.

The SINGFEST team brings together professional musicians of the Irish Youth Choir and Music Generation Offaly/ Westmeath.  

All experienced performers, vocal coaches, conductors and educators, these musicians regularly work with singers of all ages.  

In each rehearsal session the team will combine learning new repertoire and extending vocal & musicianship skill with great ensemble singing as they guide the 'Singfesters' to a fantastic performance.
