Welcome to the volunteer application for Göteborg Film Festival, we look forward to reading your application! In this form you can sign up either to our children's film festival, Prisma, in October and/or Göteborg Film Festival in January and February.

We are very excited to be able to host both festivals despite the Covid- 19 pandemic. Considering these uncertain times we are planning for quick changes following updates in the regulations from Folkhälsomyndigheten (The public health agency of Sweden). We are constantly working with several different scenarios of how to host the festival, which means that we need great flexibility both from the office staff and from you as volunteers.

Those of you who are returning volunteers will see a few changes already in the work areas. Some have disappeared and some are merged into new ones. We hope that you will find an area that suits you!  These areas may also change further in the future. We are unfortunately currently unable to promise any monetary compensation for any assignments. We hope for your understanding.

We are updating our plans for the festival in accordance with the latest recommendations from Folkhälsomyndigheten (The public health agency of Sweden) in order to minimize the risks of disease spreading. As an extra precaution we do however recommend that those of you who are a Covid- 19 risk group to not volunteer this year. You are welcome again next year.

All of our volunteers have o be above 18 years old and available for most of the days during the festival.

Prisma is Göteborg Film Festival's children’s festival. It is a film festival dedicated to young cineastes. As a volunteer at Prisma you get to help us put the festival together, keep it tidy and meet our young audience, giving them amazing cinematic experiences and memories for life.

Positions/ work areas
Visitor host:
Do you enjoy meeting our audience and visitors? As a visitor host you will be part of a small team who are take care of our audience and visitors, letting them into and out of screenings or seminars, answering questions and tidying up. You will be working at a cinema and/ or seminar. If you are placed in a cinema you will also get to present some movies. There might be some lifting involved in this position.

Ticket sales and visitor support/ Industry Centre:
Are you a good sales person and good at costumer service? Do you enjoy giving film tips to visitors and answering a lot of questions? Then this is the perfect position for you. At this position you will meet our audience and visitors face to face and via phone, email and chat. You may also work in our Industry Centre. At the Industry Centre you will help our invited guests with accreditation, answering questions, and make sure guests and journalists have what they need to enjoy the festival.

Event host/ Nordic Film Market:
Do you like variation in your work, putting things together back stage, greet guests and visitors, and make them feel comfortable? Or are you interested in the Film Industry? Then this is the area for you.

You will be working before, during and after our public and industry events and decorate our cinemas. This is a fun position with a varied work. There will be some heavy lifting.

Guest host:
Are you a good driver and enjoy meeting new people? As a guest host you are the first person our invited guests meet at the airport and their guide during their stay. You will drive them between screenings, seminars and other festival activities. To become a guest host you need to be at least 25 and have had a drivers licence valid in Sweden for at least two years.

QnA host:
Are you a cineaste and comfortable speaking in front of an audience? Then this might be the position for you. As a Qna host you will host a QnA with our guests after screenings.

Runner/ Expo:
Do you enjoy driving and heavy lifting? As a runner/ expo volunteer you will see all areas of the festival, decorate and work back stage at the festival. For this position good problem solving skills and flexibility is a great plus. To become a runner/ expo volunteer you need to be at least 25 and have had a drivers licence valid in Sweden for at least two years.

Photographer:
If you have your own equipment and love taking pictures, join our communications team. We will ask volunteers who apply for this position to send in 3 photos to show their skills.

On call volunteer:
We are this year, more than ever, going to have to rely on on call volunteers. This is the position for you if you like flexibility and variation and would like to see different parts of the festival. As an on call volunteer you will be scheduled 5 days. During these days you are expected to have your phone close by and be available on short notice.
