2020 NHMEA Middle School Festival Band Nomination Form - SOUTHWEST DISTRICT
THIS FORM IS FOR THE SOUTHWEST DISTRICT - BAND NOMINATIONS.

Thank you for nominating your students to the 2020 NHMEA Middle School District Festival!
Nominations are due by midnight Friday, January 10, 2020. Early Nominations are welcome!

You will need to fill out a form for each student.

The strings festival is in the South Central district this year.  If you are the only director at your school, you should attend your normal festival for band and chorus, as well as the string festival, if they are not the same.

All directors - please nominate students by ability, not instrument or voice part. Your best musician should be first, followed by the second, third, etc. Please do not nominate all of your flutes or sopranos first, then clarinet/altos second.

Each eligible school submitting online applications by the deadline will receive representation of at least two students in each performing group, unless only two are nominated and they play the same instrument.  In this case, schools are not guaranteed to have both students selected.  Each school will also be represented by 5-10% of their program size when possible.

More details can be found on the Festival Information document on the NHMEA webiste at https://nhmea.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2019/08/2020-Middle-School-District-Festival-Information.pdf

If you have any questions, please contact Jim Robins at robinsj@hampsteadschools.net

IMPORTANT: Please create your own personal nomination record prior to completing this form.  Also be sure to establish the order in which students are nominated before completing the form (e.g.  Eric K is 2nd, Lyndsay B is 3rd etc).

A NOTE ABOUT THE LINEAR SCALE:  A score of 5 in any category, except attitude, implies that the student is playing at a high school level, or higher in that category.  Your best 8th graders would be expected to be all 4s.  7th graders all 3s. 6th graders all 2s.  Yes, younger students may score high and older students may score lower.

When done with each nomination, click submit at the bottom of the form.  For additional students, click "Submit another response" on the landing page.  Questions, please email Jim Robins at robinsj@hampsteadschools.net
