GMCL Revised 2020 Season
Following the ECB announcement on Friday we can now begin preparations for some form of cricket with some confidence of starting a short season.

At this point we need you to engage with your committee and all players to determine their wish to play some form of the game which is still to be determined and we need you to think about how the game would work at your club and we have asked some questions in that regard.

Once we receive information from the ECB on dates for re-start, we will come back to you for your detailed response on what your club wishes to do and we will need that quickly in order to set up fixtures ready for us to start at the soonest date possible.

Remember that for us to begin any cricket there are 3 things that must happen :-
The government needs to lift its current restrictions on team sport matches.
The government needs to increase the bubble size from the current number of 6.
Once the ECB get the green light from the government, they will then release guidelines for the game to return.

If we are able to restart would you be willing and able to extend the season until the end of September? *
Will your ground be ready to restart? How many weeks notice do you think you will need for the pitch to be ready *
Recognising players haven't trained how many weeks notice do you think players would want? *
What teams do you think you can enter?  This is not a commitment, just a guide for us and we will ask for a commitment later, when we know exactly what form cricket may take. *

Sunday Cricket
What about juniors. Would you prefer weekdays,  stick with weeknights (noting that we may have to start earlier for sunset) or would you like to look at multi games on free Saturdays or Sundays *
Adaptive cricket
Whatever adaptive cricket is, when we know more this week clubs will have to be aware of limitations on use of changing rooms, communal areas, scoreboaxes etc. there may well be limits on spectators and distancing rules will have to be enforced.  There will be separate rules on use of bars which may allow clubs to make the most of the rules having significantly greater space but you made need more staff etc so watch out for revised rules this week.  There will obviously be interlinks between the game and the use of bars at many clubs and every club is different, please think how you can make the most of any rule changes.
