ABOUT THE POSITION:
Environmental Center Host
Ford Calumet Environmental Center / Big Marsh Park

Environmental Center Host volunteers work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Chicago Park District staff team, making our guests feel welcome, answering questions, and helping visitors understand and access the many opportunities available at this unique site. Duties will have you moving throughout the Center, doing tasks ranging from manning the information desk, to welcoming school groups, to setting up a classroom for a program, to just being a smiling face if anyone has a question. Required skills include a quick smile and enthusiasm for talking about the Calumet region and the Chicago Park District Natural Sites!

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be 18 years or older
• Willingness to regularly work with visitors of all ages, from tiny toddlers to adults
• Willingness to learn our programming and be part of our programming and events team
• A commitment to the mission of the Chicago Park District
• A genuine appreciation for nature and outdoor activity
• A friendly personality and positive attitude
