Protestable subjects include- A misapplication of the rules, a clerical error, a mistake in the final results, or a failure to follow a meet procedure (such as disqualifying a late team before the 10 minute threshold).

Non-protestable subjects include- Any judgment decision pertaining to violations or alleged violations of the rules, A decision made by the official(s) that does not involve misapplication of a rule, or terms and conditions of competition, whether a start is fair or legal.

If a coach wishes to protest, the protest must first be approved by the venue director, who may accept or deny the request.

The protest must be filed within 30 minutes of the game in question's conclusion.
