Each exam has a time limit of 3 hours. Most exams are administered online unless otherwise noted. These exams cost $35-70 per exam (LTISD pays for the exams ordered on the dates listed below) so if you are not taking an exam once you have registered then please contact Kathy Burbank (
burbankk@ltisdschools.org) as soon as possible prior to the deadline for registering. Once exams are ordered they cannot be refunded.
An email verification that you have registered will be sent with details about the exam on the deadline date for registration orders.
Students in grades 6-12 will take the exam at home using the Proctorio service provided through the University of Texas. Proctorio includes an identification process, requires a webcam for video recording, and uses a lockdown browser to ensure a secure testing experience. Please see the Q & A document linked on the website for more information. Students will have a 60-day window to take the exams. Parents will receive an email from UT about their child's test administration for students in grades 3-8 once the exams have been ordered. Students in grades 9-12 will have the email sent to their LTISD email account (@
ltisdschools.net).
Languages other than English are administered through another platform if you are trying to test out of more than one year of LOTE.
Exams for acceleration in a foreign language or languages other than English (LOTE) are purchased from
Avant Assessments. There are listening, reading, writing, and speaking portions that are administered online. There are sample tests available on their website. These tests are untimed and usually, take 1.5-2 hours to complete all components of the test.
LOTE exams are proctored by a facilitator with Avant. You will schedule a specific time to take the exam. A link to register will be sent to your school email address.
Schedule changes are not made once school starts. Any acceleration would be for the following school year.
