We want to dedicate these summer months to reimagining what social justice ministry at St. Anthony might look like moving forward. We need your input and help to do that. Despite not being able to gather together in-person right now, we remain committed to listening to your concerns, learning from your stories, and planning for action to address the issues facing us. We want to know what you think about everything going on in the world right now and how we at St. Anthony might respond.
Please take 10 minutes to complete the survey below. Your feedback will directly impact and inform social justice events, trainings, and other educational opportunities in 2020 and even 2021. Before you share your perspectives, let us ground ourselves in the world as it is today.
In 2020, every corner of our world is experiencing suffering, poverty, and oppression. Division and confusion is running rampant. We are in the middle of a heated election season. Sides are being taken. Meanwhile, families are being further torn apart. We find ourselves navigating multiple and overlapping crises: COVID-19, health inequality, mental health, climate change, recession, unemployment, immigration, and civil unrest due to racial tensions and police brutality. Social isolation and not being able to do the things we used to be able to is exacerbating all these issues. It is clear that we are at a tipping point and in desparate need of divine healing to help us tackle these challenges head on. We need peacemakers committed to facilitating healing, pursuing justice, and building a civilization of love. We know, however, that such leaders are not born but developed. That's why we want to provide in-depth and intentional opportunities to share and listen to stories, learn, and gain skills to facilitate justice and peacemaking within our own community as well as the broader society.
Please suggest topics, ideas, and groups you would like to see in future social justice trainings and formation opportunities at St. Anthony. You can share your name if you would like to be a part of a follow up conversation, or so we can learn more about what you're looking for.
