This application is for science teachers in the AMSTI-UA region to apply to attend AMSTI Science Summer Professional Learning in Tuscaloosa.

AMSTI Science Professional Learning has been redesigned to better meet the needs of our teachers. Two weeks of summer training have been replaced with components to allow participants to attend one summer of face-to-face with the option to complete the remainder of their professional learning online.

Science Professional Learning is July 13 - 23, 2021 with a menu of options to determine which days you will attend depending on your grade level. Consult the schedule attached to the application email.

I understand that acceptance is dependent upon availability of materials, space, and funding, as well as meeting any qualifications/prerequisites as determined by AMSTI.

Confirmation of acceptance will be sent from AMSTI-UA by email. You must receive confirmation of acceptance in order to attend professional learning.

I understand that attendance EVERY DAY, ALL DAY is mandatory in order to receive certification and science units. Hours of professional learning are 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM with one hour for lunch.

I understand that completion of professional learning entitles me to receive science units based on my system’s schedule. I agree to complete all lessons by utilizing materials with the units in order to meet the standards in the Course of Study Science.

I understand that AMSTI-UA will not pay stipends or travel expenses.  

Due to liability, children will not be allowed at any sessions.

Deadline to apply for currently employed teachers is April 15. This deadline will assist us with planning materials and trainers as well as determine if sessions make.
