๐๐ซ๐๐๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ:
*Students who failed a class during school year 2021-2022 will have the opportunity to earn a full credit if they retake the class during Summer Academy. ย Prior to the summer session starting, teachers will review what priority standards the student met during the school year so that summer work can focus on meeting the remaining standards. ย Per the CVHS 2022-23 Program of Studies, โIf a student is completing specific coursework to improve a grade, they will work with the content teacher and the school counselor to develop a plan and a timeline for completion. Typically, credit recovery is assessed on a pass/fail basis.โ
*Students who would like to earn a better grade than they did during the school year may retake the class. ย As stated in the Program of Studies. "If a student is retaking a class to improve a grade, the new grade will show on the transcript and be figured into the GPA calculation. The old grade will also remain on the transcript, however, the point value will not be figured. Students typically only earn one credit for a repeated class."
*Students who are taking a class for the first time may also earn a credit. ย Students taking the theater course will be required to do work prior to the summer session (auditions, learning their roles, etc.) and will therefore earn a full credit. ย Students in other classes may also earn a credit if all of the priority standards are met. ย The Summer Academy teacher will communicate with the student and family regarding the studentโs progress toward earning a credit. ย If the student does not meet all of the priority standards, no credit will be awarded. ย Students may also elect to take a class to preview material before the school year 2022-2023 or as non-credit enrichment.
