WWHA Registration 2020-2021
2020/2021 League Information
The season runs from Thursday October 1st 2020 to March 2021, including playoffs.

The league consists of beginner to advanced players, 18 years and older. This is a recreation league which means body checking is not allowed. In a normal season, incidental body contact should be expected - however, this is not a normal season. While it’s not entirely clear how well it will work, our intention this season is to respect physical distancing directives and focus on playing the puck; not the body. Information on our modified rules will be circulated from time to time during the season and players are expected to make efforts to follow them. The Board understands that COVID has created anxiety and uncertainty on all our lives: hockey will be a great outlet for us all, and we ask that everyone treat other players and officials with respect and patience as we try to figure out how to play hockey while avoiding contact.

Teams will consist of 10 players and 1 goalie. Each team will play at least 2 games per week based on 8 teams. Games will start on time, have a timekeeper and 1-2 officials. Players have the option of signing up as a full-time player/ goalie, OR can choose to be a substitute player/ goalie only. All players (full-time and substitute) will be assigned to a team for the 2020-2021 season.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE that there is potential both for injury and for transmission of COVID-19 involved in team sports. I further understand and agree that participating in hockey is a potentially dangerous activity. Bumps, bruises, scrapes, scratches and soreness are common, and most participants will encounter this type of injury from time to time. More serious injuries are possible, such as sprains, strains, twists, cramps and injuries of similar magnitude. The possibility of even more serious injury exists, including fractured bones, torn ligaments and concussions. There remains, despite safety precautions, the remote possibility of crippling or death. Finally, the nature of the game presents the potential for the transmission of COVID-19 (or other airborne pathogens) between players. I FREELY ACCEPT AND FULLY ACKNOWLEDGE all such risks, dangers and hazards, resulting form my participation in WWHA games.I am aware that I should discuss my participation in this activity with my physician to determine the risk to my current health. It is my right and my responsibility as a participant to remove myself from the game and notify the nearest official, if at any time I sense any unusual hazard or unsafe condition that could result in injury or illness.I have read and understand the above statement of risk. I have also read the 2020-21 WWHA Return to Play Guidelines, which outline the modifications required to comply with COVID directives. I assume responsibility for my own safety and I understand and accept the risks involved with my participation. *
