We hope to encourage more people to self-organize study groups and pods, whether with us or with others not in our formation. Our 2024 meeting times will be the first saturdays each month from 10:30am to 1:30pm central (11:30am to 2:30pm eastern // 8:30am to 11:30am pacific). those dates are: january 6, february 3, march 2, april 6, may 4, june 1, july 6, august 3, september 7, october 5, november 2, and december 7.

Please complete this 8-question form to register to join our meetings. We will always meet online, but as some of us build trust, we may begin to allow for small groups meeting in person as well. DO PLEASE pass this form on to your pod members and friends, especially if they’d like to join us in reading! one attendee has already offered to make recordings of her reading sections aloud, and i believe others are up for helping. the text is also available as an audiobook already! do please let me know what help you need to get the text, if any.

About Taking Care
This group exists to dedicate space to an ongoing conversation about embodying TJ in our own relationships, teams, networks, and families. Our sessions consist of facilitated conversations, breakout room groups, open conversations, and specific exercises. We take free time to breathe and think and eat, and walk away from our cameras when we need to. So far we've used spoken English audio, video of our faces as we're comfortable, and a simultaneous chat room.
1) Name *
2) What are your pronouns?
If you do not give any, we may use "they / them / theirs" or your name.
3) Would you like us to send you reminders and announcements about these meetings? *
We plan to send a message one day before each meeting and one after each meeting. If you wish to unsubscribe, please look for the 'unsubscribe' link in the bottom of your reminder email. The first email may go to your 'spam' folder, please go in and let your email system know you'd like to continue to receive messages from us.
5) Mobile / cellular phone number
We would use this if your email address was bouncing messages back.
6) Access: What do you need in order to fully participate?
Meetings are currently free and online, though for those who wish to and regularly join, we may be able to work out in-person meetings. We'll do our best to support you by maintaining accessibility, whatever that means for you. Needs can relate to language ("I need ASL interpretation"), ability ("I do not read visually"), privacy ("I will not show my face"), or something else.
7) Note on language justice:
We don't regularly offer an interpretation of the dominant language of the group, which is written and spoken English. If that's not what you need, we'll do our best to use the available time to find a resource to meet that need.

In the meantime, we're very interested in meeting folks who would like to spend their time as interpreters for conversations like this. We're especially looking for English-Spanish and English-ASL interpreters, but that's not exclusive. Let us know if you've got someone in your network with the interest to volunteer with that skill!

We would also be interested in supporting those who wish to hold similar group meetings in languages other than English, so please let us know if we can help with elements of that.
8) Anything else?
A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
