ATHEN Virtual Conference - STEM Accessibility 2023 Proposal - Acc3ss N0w!

On February 9 and 10 of 2023, ATHEN will host the second annual Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) Accessibility: Acc3ss N0w virtual conference! Based upon last year's successful event, we strive for a diverse conference where experts can share their best practices, solutions, techniques, etc. for accessing and creating accessible STEM content in higher education. This will be exciting, novel, resourceful, and enlightening to all who care about accessible content in STEM fields in higher education.

Important Dates:

STEM Accessibility Virtual Conference: February 9 and 10, 2023
Proposals due before Wed, December 21, 2022
Notification of proposal status: January 2-6, 2023

Format:

Share your best practices and insights around STEM accessibility with your peers in a 45-minute presentation (30-minute presentation with 15-minute Q&A).

Pricing:

The entire conference is free for accepted speakers, and all speakers will have access to all session recordings post-conference.

Do you plan to have any specific techniques for attendee interaction? If so, what does that look like? This is for the conference committee's awareness and not necessarily a requirement for acceptance.

Attendee interaction examples: a formal Q/A at the end of the session, asking questions and encouraging attendees to answer via chat during the session, using accessible polls, contributing to a shared electronic document, etc.
