The Bridge
The orphan boy and his dragon friend, Poofin, stood before the unstable bridge, exchanging uneasy glances. The wooden planks creaked with each gust of wind and the river below churned angrily, as if warning them of the danger that lay ahead.
With a deep breath, the orphan boy took the first step onto the old bridge, his heart pounding in his chest. Poofin followed closely behind, his claws gripping the wooden planks with caution.
Each step felt like an eternity as they made their way across the swaying bridge, the sound of rushing water echoing in their ears. One wrong move could send them plummeting into the river below, swallowed by the murky depths.
Suddenly, a loud crack echoed through the air as a plank beneath the orphan boy’s feet gave way. He stumbled
forward, barely managing to catch himself on the edge of the bridge.
“Poofin, help!” he cried out, panicking. The dragon sprang into action, extending his wings and grabbing onto the orphan boy with his claws, pulling him back to safety. Heart pounding, the orphan boy regained his footing, hands shaking as he clung to Poofin’s scales for support. Together, they continued their journey across the bridge, inching closer to the other side with each passing moment.
Finally, they reached solid ground once more, the bridge behind them a distant memory. Exhausted but relieved, the orphan boy and Poofin shared a moment of quiet peace, knowing that they had overcome yet another obstacle together.
As they continued on their journey, the bond between the orphan boy and his dragon companion grew stronger, their courage and resilience shining bright. And though the path may still be filled with danger, they knew that as long as they had each other, they could face whatever challenges lay ahead.
