TAUMARUNUI SILVERBACK BOXING ACADEMY
The academy has been set up for members who wish to learn more about the sport of boxing and the physical requirements it takes to be successful in this sport. You do not have to be a boxer or a highly-tuned athlete to participate but you must have a desire to learn and to give it a go. Our place is definitely for all ages, shapes and sizes and our classes graduate in complexity and intensity. So don’t be shy!
TSBA is a boxing academy run by volunteers to foster the development, encouragement and promotion of the sport of boxing in New Zealand, and in particular the area of Taumarunui. TSBA is affiliated under the Taumarunui Youth and Community Trust who give support in many ways to ensure TSBA can operate. The academy is affiliated to the Central
North Island Boxing Association, a member association of Boxing NZ Incorporated.
The aim is to support and encourage young people and in our community, by providing them with guidance to reach their potential. Our academy places special emphasis on fair play and sportsmanship, and actively encourages the development of such attributes as teamwork and leadership. Emphasis is on fun, participation, performance and technique, and being involved in healthy, physical activity. TSBA provide opportunities for life skills coaching, practical boxing training, positive role modelling and leadership skills.

JUNIORS
Participants of this class are aged from 9 to 14 years old*. Learn the sweet science of boxing. This class is based on a multi station circuit that includes boxing drills, agility, strength, bag work and pad work. Fees are $40.00 per school term.
Tuesdays and Thursdays 5.30pm - 6.30pm.
