Joining the PTA is a great way to get involved in the school and to help build our community! We welcome all parents and caregivers to apply no matter if you're new to UNES or veterans. All positions are open as the current board is retiring! Open positions are the following:
We are gathering interest in the positions over the next few weeks and the new board will be announced at our final PTA meeting at the end of the year (June).
President
Main responsibilities include oversight of the PTA and liaising with the administration on collaborative school engagements such as assemblies, fundraisers, events, driving decision making (mostly around how we spend money) and setting the tone of inclusivity throughout everything we do.
Also: the signature on our insurance and our bank account (together with the Treasurer)
Vice President
Together with the President - keeping track of events and assisting with them as needed, contributing ideas for how to make our PTA reflect the values and priorities of our families and teachers. Contributes to all decisions.
Recording Chair
Recording and posting notes of our meetings and action items for the next meetings. Assists with events as needed and contributes to all decisions.
Communications Chair
Responsible for helping to broadcast information out to the UNES community. With our social media, website and email and printed newsletter, you will help families stay informed and connected with what is happening within the school, as well as in and around the community.

Treasurer
Background in bookkeeping, accounting, finance or love of numbers preferable. Confidentiality, communication, organizational skills required. Versatility or willingness to learn/use online applications such as Quickbooks, Squarespace, Stripe, Google apps and other banking apps.
Reconciling responsibilities include tracking funds from PTA events and other school fundraising events. Filing tax forms with NYS, paying vendors, reimbursements to parents & teachers, etc. in a timely manner.
Assists with events as needed and contributes to all decisions.
