Title: Scientific Echo Sounders, Instrumentation, and Data Management and Visualization for the Ocean Science World.

Abstract: The Kongsberg Ocean Science team will take the opportunity to inform the Scripps community on their range of systems for exploring the oceans. The presentation will feature applications on scientific echo sounder systems for underwater science and fishery research.  The focus will be on the EK80, a high-precision scientific echo sounder and ADCP system designed to quantify and monitor underwater ecosystems. The EK system has been used for a wider range of oceanographic applications, with the addition of ADCP functionality completing the picture.  The presentation will also touch on Blue Insight an open, modular platform for the processing, visualization and sharing of ocean data. The core module contains the cloud framework – which has been built to the highest cyber security standards – and an application-specific dashboard, teamed with data storage and management functionalities.
